Rafaat Hallab

Executive Summary

Rafaat Hallab made a great initiative by offering people to exchange their plastic packages by sweets, which is just a thank you symbol from them to whomever is returning plastics to be recycled.

Tactics

We wanted to highlight this initiative with a campaign from a new perspective, so we used the following personas:

  • Even that it’s not relatable to Lebanon, the panda was the first well known endangered animal ahelped spread awareness around this issue all over the world
  • Kids which are born in a polluted world with high use of plastic and it directly affects their health
  • Seabirds and sea turtles which are dying in enormous numbers especially in Lebanon from the sea full of plastic and nylon garbage.

Problems & Solutions

PROBLEM

Since being eco-friendly is still not that common for people in Lebanon and the north specifically, many did not fully get the message behind the sweets in return of plastics, and they went over asking about the weight of plastics needed and now much they would get sweets in return. Some people expressed that they would feel shy to enter the store and return the plastic and wait for their sweets gift.

SOLUTIONS

To resolve these issues we decided to create another video showing a public figure entering Rafaat Hallab store, glamorous and chique, holding plastic packs in her hand and returning them to the cashier, which surely helped clear things out for people
